I'm lucky to get 2 bars and I'm in an area that gets full bars with other roms.

Battery savings...at a cost... That is my guess. Or the bars are rescaled. Remember when the iPhone came out with artificially high reception, and they had to issue a software update to show the correct reception. Maybe aosp shows the true reception, and the other roms are lying to you because they are based on LGE's source.

Never thought of that. Thanks for the info.

Not if its compatible...

Just use aosp's or Xionia's(<---i use this one and everything works fine)

I was using soap recovery and I'd get constant force closes nomatter how many times i wiped and flashed. I switched to xionia. 6 version and i haven't had any problems that's why i asked.

Any way to enable the smiley key instead of the enter key? Without an external app?

EDIT: Also market will not update to the newest release.

Do i have to wipe, and flash on every build that comes out? Is there a way to just update the current build i'm using if so' how?

Flash new build, flash gapps. Done. Make a backup just in case something goes screwy.

Is the recovery a new version of clock work mod or did he just change the date?
Also just to to let those know that aren't sure-- type this into terminal emulator to put on the new recovery, just make sure the file is on the root of your sdcard.

su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/aospCWMod-OV-20110427.img
reboot recovery

It seems as if the recov instructions were taken off of the romrepo site because it was redesigned.

PS- I didn't even think about following aosp on twitter-- He posts all the links to his new builds on there, easy way to download from mobile if you aren't already using tapatalk or some alternative http://twitter.com/#!/aospbot

You can just flash the ROM, but it's recommended doing the wipe just in case anything happens.
