I think 3d view and 3d building have been there since gMaps 5.0
but Rotating does not work properly on Optimus V

Rotating works. You have to have one finger as an anchor point and move the other finger in a circle around that. rather than both fingers revolving around each other.

So I thought I could leave this ROM for awhile and try one of the 2.2 based roms for the battery life.

but I can't.

I will sacrifice battery life for all the cool features of gingerbread.

Personally I think battery life is better on this than any other 2.2 rom
Really? My battery experience with RebornROM was disturbingly good. I left my phone on standby for five hours and returned and the percentage was at 98%

If there's something everyone is doing to optimize the battery for AOSPCMod I'd like to know because even with the newer kernel I'm still losing 7% an hour.

On the latest build battery life for me was horrendous. I rolled back to the broken camera build and right now Im at 55% and 11hr down. But that is also on wifi for the whole time.

Yesterday, I went 9 hours and was still at 81% on the latest build. I only made a couple of calls, checked email every hour, and checked news/weather two times, took 3 pictures, I think that's it.

Light usage, but less than 20% drain over 9 hours seems respectable, of course it drained alot faster at home when I turned on wifi and started using the phone. ;)

in an effort to calibrate my battery stats. I charged the phone to 100 percent, booted to recovery, wiped battery stats, rebooted to android. turned brightness 100% and kept using 3g and wifi and GPS all day until it died.

got 7h 57m 37s before it shut itself off while i was looking at the battery stats screen.

Should I be impressed? I would consider this is worst case scenario. i did nothing but ABUSE the heck out of every battery wasting feature of my phone, the screen was ON for almost 8 hours. it was set to not shut off at all.

So now im charging it back to 100%, where ill do another test and see how long i get out of having all the battery saving features on.

Anyone else noticed that with this ROM, the camera doesn't work???

you have to set the focus mode to "off" when its off it works fine, you just dont get autofocus.

when any kind of focus mode is on, the camera becomes unresponsive when you attempt to take a pic and it needs to be force closed

My camera works fine with focus. Never have had any closes at all. 2.3.4

I'm getting about 5% drain per hour with moderate use, and 3% with light use, I turn off wifi when I'm not using it, and I use the tweaks posted here, oher than that, nothing special.

Note- I use $10 China Ebay batteries, two of them rotated daily, and one gets much better life than the other. I have not tested the current build with the stock battery, so my results are a bit skewed.

I remember mmarz saying 3g would be better for cm7 roms.
However it seems worse to me. If I leave 3g on Ill get about 7 hours with pretty much just gmail checking and texts and a couple calls..

I did find where my biggest thief was, soundhound widget. Deleted it and my battery life jumped majorly.

I keep 3G on when I have wifi off, and on prev builds, it only caused battery drain when the signal was so bad it kept tower hopping (confirmed with OpenSignal app).

Rather than a SoundHound widget, I use Shazam's Tag Shortcut in the market. Put it on one of your homescreens, and when you hear a song you want info about, just click the Tag icon and it launches Shazam in listening mode.

1) When I run Quadrant, my device is just above the Galaxy S. What else can I do to it to make it like the one on the first post?

2) I tried installing the missing font using Font Changer and my screen went all wacked.....so much that the buttons didn't do anything and I had to pull the battery to get it back up and running. What did I do wrong? The missing symbols are annoying.

Thanks.
