Check the version. Without bothering to download the whole thing I'd bet it's a copy of the completely stock source.

Not sure if this means anything or not, but the .config file says this is 2.6.32.9

Re: [ROM][WIP] Unofficial CM7 (Gingerbread) - 7/15/2011

I have noticed when using this ROM that when i check my battery use statistics my phone is constantly awake even though the screen is off and Juice defender has the data antenna turned off. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this, and if they have is it a bug that i should be reporting?

I've been kinda thinking that it is google plus that is doing that, so i am going to uninstall it and see what that does

So, I did a build using the VM kernel. My attempts to remap the keys was unsuccessful. I was also disappointed that it was not overclockable yet. I am building again with zefie's kernel for now. I will work out the kernel later. Once it completes and I test it a bit i will post it.

You don't need to run make clean if you're just switching kernels.

The changes at these links seem to causing build errors. The first link is for a separate lockscreen background. The second link is for disabling a lockscreen.
I'm getting errors "cannot find symbol". Make returned error 41,
I'm going to retry building from a clean work tree.

Okay, I've pulled the changes in that should fix that build. In the future you can use git (add a remote to the CM repo) to pull the changes into your local copy if there are updates I haven't pulled in yet. You can do an incremental build (should take about 40 minutes vs 2 hours for a full build) if just the framework changed.

Hmmm...That didn't work out like I thought. I put zefie's kernel back in and the phone was stuck in landscape. No rotation. Guess I will have to look at the kernel then and see where blarf is saying I need to make a change.

Yes look at the gerrit issue I either PM'd you or posted in this thread. In the comments is an explanation of what to change (comment out one line). If you're feeling up to it you can start pulling in some of the changes from git (usb tethering, qwerty keyboard delete!).

Looks like you may have pm'ed me on CM forums. I'll check it out. Thanks

I forked the repos on my github for upstream changes, future fixes, and minor modifications for my own builds (maybe).

I'm still learning github but this seems like the best way to sync upstream changes and start making customizations in the future.

If you're not planning on making (m)any modifications there's not a huge need to fork (you can always do that later very easily). Pulling in changes from the CM repositories is pretty easy (just add an extra remote), and won't happen automatically regardless. The whole distributed SCM thing is a bit... interesting.

Going to pay more attention to this thread. I have recently put down my other hobbies in hopes of figuring out how to possibly build. I have experience building signed packages, etc and taught myself through trial and error (having a Linux OS sure did help!). Any information that anyone could give me for a place to start would help. I don't have much experience working with source files. I have read that they are easier to work with as opposed to having to decompress, fix and recompress a file or apk... Any direction is appreciated. I hope to contribute to something. I have more free time coming up in the near future as I will be taking time off from other things. :)

Sound like you didn't flash gapps. Gapps will make it so you can sign into Google. Without it you only have the option for exchange under settings.

I would suggest to everyone having problems installing this rom, to read a little more carefully when installing . The instructions couldn't be anymore clear than they are.

It's going to be awhile before I can do any more updates. Real life is getting in my way a bit.

You could use your own team my friend. I'd volunteer my services, but I don't know the first thing about this, except bug testing.

Re: [ROM][WIP] Unofficial CM7 (Gingerbread) - 7/15/2011

Ok I installed this last night, along with Data4ext. My only problem is why do i keep gettin 2 voicemail noictifications when i don't have any voicemails. If i could get rid of that i might be able to live with this.
Another problem I noticed is bluetooth does not work right! What I mean is when i try to listen to music through my bluetooth i just get static. I use BTmono to listen to music thru my bluetooth headset when I am at work. Any way of fixing these problems I would stick with this Rom.

Are you using vvm or google voice. I have not had this problem with ath3nos rom but did for aospCMod. Where it sent text messages notifying of voicemail. Now maybe this is a completely different issue and am leaping here but my issue fixed itself after re flash and has never popped up again. When using this rom I did have issues with all my data, voice mail texts ect for the last week. Got frustrated and switched back to aospCMod but still has similar issues. Restored shellRom and did a profile and prl update and restored back to aospCMod. That solved it. Try both those things. Hope it helps. I am in central Indiana and the entire midwest has had some form of this issue stemming from the prl.

On a side note, I will be returning to this rom soon, now that I know what my issue was
