Nick4 said exactly what I was thinking but I would actually recommend wiping the cache first from recovery see if that does it for you. I can say that I have had no issues updating any apps.

As for Zefies when you nandroid it does the cache partitions to so I can only assume the nandroid you have has less info on the cache partition and therefor doesn't error.

So I've given ath3nos a heads up. The next batch of changes from my branch will require new kernels to work properly. The CM7 guys want the orientation stuff fixed in the kernel (ffs). I've taken care of the OV because that's what I use, also because 'aosp' never did release his source.

For Zefie's (or Picastick's too) kernel it should be a matter of commenting out one line and recompiling (hence I'll leave that up to ath3nos).

If ya'll want a new kernel for the OS builds, now's the time to start taking notes. If you've got an Optimus C, M, or U now's the time to get cracking on an appropriate kernel (don't know how many of you read /this/ thread). I importing the various kernels into https://github.com/inferiorhumanorgans/android_kernel_thunderc The VM670-IHO branch is a good place to start looking for what needs to be changed to get proper CM7 support in the other stock kernels.

Pull requests gladly accepted so we can get an IHO kernel for the C/M/U variants. At some point a unified kernel would be great, but for the time being there are enough other little bugs here and there.

So this is ALL new kernel source for OV and the not kernel from asopCMod?

Well it's stock plus the requisite patches for frequency scaling, overclocking, functioning accelerometer (sigh), and the interactive (maybe smartass?) governor. 'aosp' never released his current source so I don't know how it differs or what he snuck in there. Hopefully this will make it easier to cherry pick the commits and get a working Optimus U or whatever kernel.

You could easily rebuild one of Zefie's (and tweak the keys) or picastics' kernels to work around the CM7 bug because they've released their source. My choice was to just start from stock and see what was and wasn't needed. That's the beauty of having the source available, if you want to start from a known kernel, you can.

Well I already know the answer to this but isn't the asopCMod kernel under GPL? I think I saw it in an old thread. That would lead to another 404 so I guess there's no point in looking.

Cool. Let me know when you find the 'aosp' cmod sources for 2.6.32.33. 'aosp' is lurking on XDA and tweeting (@aospbot), so he's certainly not dead.

I could be entirely wrong but is this is?

Edit: if so it was linked on the V forum.

Check the version. Without bothering to download the whole thing I'd bet it's a copy of the completely stock source.

Honestly I have no idea and it seemed a little too simple; but yeah I don't see a complete version so you may in fact be right.

Looks like I get to do some kernel work. I have no clue what to do, lol. May not be an update for quite some time. Especially since I am focusing my time on a pure gingerbread rom. But I guess it will need a kernel too.

Try Orville Redenbacher! I hear his kernels pop the biggest! lol
I have no clue! I'm lucky I can flash what you create! Thanks for all the work you do. If it wasn't for people like you, I'd be running a stock phone.

Re: [ROM][WIP] Unofficial CM7 (Gingerbread) - 7/15/2011

Is there any way to tell that I am running the 7/15 version? (Is there any visible difference between the 7/15 build and the 7/9 version?). Im asking because I think I flashed the 7/15 build, but I'm unsure because it has the same filename as the 7/9 build.

Nope. Even the info in the about phone section says 0709. You have to just know at this point I guess.

Re: [ROM][WIP] Unofficial CM7 (Gingerbread) - 7/15/2011

Ath3nos said he will be adding a date to the next release

Least of my worries. ;)

I hope to have support for this rom on this phone and am willing to put time into it if needed by any of the devs.

Re: [ROM][WIP] Unofficial CM7 (Gingerbread) - 7/15/2011

I don't know about the changes that ath3nos made but from my repo the build number will be one big ooblygook string like:

"cyanogen_thunderc_VM670-eng 2.3.4 GINGERBREAD eng.alex.20110717.005119" indicating I ran make clean around midnight on the 17th. The date won't get changed for incremental builds (unlike a kernel). Cleaning it up is on my list of things to do.

A pure gingerbread ROM may or may not need a new kernel, and you can always just back out the patch in the base framework. Otherwise a kernel shouldn't be too bad. Grab the NDK, Zefie's source, comment out the one line, build, and copy the files over to the device/lge/thunderc directory (and make sure to give me a copy so I can include them). Because of the similarities you could probably even use my Optimus V kernel and a new keymap to get things working.

That said, I'm excited since most of the open bugs except for BT SCO audio seem to be fixed.

Hopefully someone else will take up maintaining CM7 for the LS670.
