I was looking for some apps to replace the missing led notification for our optimus s and thought that I could lay an idea hear for you genius dev's ...

I know close to nothing about coding and such but I thought of this;

Would it be possible for you guys to create a setting on this rom where say if we receive a text you could make the home hard-key flash while screen is off/locked. Possibly have it setup like this...

SMS/MMS - blinking home key
Missed call - blinking return key
E-mail - blinking search key

I know this is probably an extremely hard thing to do but hey, I figured it's worth a shot since I miss that old led light so much!

What is the recomended ext (ext2, ext3, ext4) partition for the SD Card for this rom?

Re: [ROM][WIP] Unofficial CM7 (Gingerbread) - 7/15/2011

I use ext4... for data2ext.
I think its fat32 for the main portion...

While I was sincerely trying to defend you in YOUR rom thread I don't see you topping this and until you do, work on your rom and make it a "strait (straight) gingerbread" rom.

Haha easy man he's 12 ;P

Which means it is actually against federal law to allow him to post here without verifiable permission from one of his legal guardians. It's called the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act or COPPA.

In other news, I really like this ROM and once I get my development environment back up and running I'll fork the source tree and see what I can accomplish!

i've been having trouble with the dock i don't know if its a problem with the rom or my phone or adw in general but often the icons i have on my dock will change either just the icon sometimes the program that it launches and other times the dock just disappears and i end up having to reboot my phone anyone else having these problems? id like to be able to keep it stock (adw) but this is getting freaking annoying real quick

I have had a lot of luck with launcher pro. Ymmv. I know you were trying to stay with stock, but it is free in the market, so why not give it a test drive?

Hello all,

I'm relatively new to this ROM (just switched from zelfie's scott pilgrim last night) and looking good so far. I read that the CM team are allowing users to set permissions on their latest builds. Is that reflected in this ROM? If so, where? If not, is it coming? Otherwise, I'll keep using LBE Privacy Guard in the interim. Thanks.

Yes you can set permissions in this ROM. If you go to Settings->CyanogenMod settings->Application->Permission Management(check this box). This turns on the permission management. Now if you go to Settings->Applications->Manage applications and choose the application in your list that you want to manage permissions on. Once you do this if you scroll to the bottom you will see a permissions section. You can then simply select and deselect each permission you want the application to be allowed to do.

Hope this is what you were looking for and helps out!

Hey quick question, since this is 2.3.4, does that mean we can audio chat in Gchat using our microphone? I know video chat probably won't work, but will voice chat work?

Re: [ROM][WIP] Unofficial CM7 (Gingerbread) - 7/15/2011

Nice! Will update to this ROM when I get home! Currently running Zefie's and runs great! This should be better!

Re: [ROM][WIP] Unofficial CM7 (Gingerbread) - 7/15/2011

Been running the latest release since you posted it and i must say that it is far more stable compared to any other cm7 i have tried.

Do we have the latest google talk? I wanted to call a buddy through gchat, but my screen didn't look like this chat. I wanted to know if this was because we're running a March release of GAPPS or something?

Eh... I ran a new mdpi version of gapps on a fresh flash and it worked fine. Others have reported issues so I reverted to the old one...
