Root advantage?

If I were to root my Bionic with Safestrap and Eclipse 2.2, and that was the only rom that I use, what is the advantage of rooting? Is it a speed issue, bloatware (does it allow me to freeze apps?), better battery life? I'm thinking about rooting, but could someone enlighten me a little? TIA.

Short answer for all of that is yes. Most ROMs can improve speed, yes get rid of bloat, bettery battery management. If eclipse is the ROM done by Nitro, he makes great ROMs.

You can also do more things as far as customizing stuff with mods, ad blocking, wireless hotspot. There is a ton of stuff....

I am rooted and running eclipse 2.2 and have been since I think feb. I have had no problems with phone, great reception, and eclipse turns off enough stuff that I regularly get 16+ hrs on a charge with the standard battery. I couldn't be happier.
