root before GB or after?

first post for (I promise) a quick learning noob

Getting a TB this weekend and want to root but see GB coming down the pike ~June 30. Should I root before the GB update or after? Will I get GB OTA if I root or can one only do manual upgrades after rooting?

Check it out. If you ROOT and only use the stock ROM you could still be prompted to download and install the official OTA. If you do so on a rooted device you will lose root and could possibly run into a world of problems. Remember once you root NEVER accept or install an official OTA. It's always best to wait for the dev's to get ahold of the update, root it and put it into a flaahable zip. So you can enjoy the official build without having to worry about losing root. Just root and enjoy all the awesome ROMs they have already made for the TB. You wont be disappointed. Hope that help

So if I want gingerbread NOW I should root...then flash something like das BAMF 2.1

or

If I want to play around with the phone first to see if I like it skip rooting and accept GB OTA. At that point I could check back with the ROM developers to see if the ROM version has been updated to a version made for "stock" GB?

(Am I getting the hang of it?)

if you can't wait for 6 days, then root now. don't flash BAMF however, it almost bricked my phone. flash gingeritis if yo want sense GB.

thanks for the tip. See a lot of folks loving BAMF (froyo version) Is your near-bricking from the gingerbread version of the ROM or just a comment about BAMF in general.

i love the froyo remix version but I wouldn't recommend the GB vrsion do the potential of bricking.

I had no problems with BAMF GB..., Here's something to think about though, isn't this update really still a rumor? Has there been an official statement from Verizon(or even an update page)? I haven't seen it, just leaks. So, if not then don't really count on that GB update.

Oh and I got the remote control wired headset for the HTC's....Hail Yeah!!!! WORKS LIKE BLUETOOTH.....just has wires. FWIW
