Root question

A lot of people are rooting using the CF auto root I see. As I understand if you use this method of rooting the samsung galaxy s5 you will not be able to use wifi tether; but you can get OTA's. I know there is another method you have to install a custom recovery, you can use wifi tether but no OTA's. I'm trying to decide which is better. Any suggestions?

I used CF auto root and downloaded WiFi Tether Router (it's $2.50 on the appstore, i believe) and i was able to tether without my SP flagging me or knowing.
