So my fascinate is out of warranty and I want to root it. I don't want to do anything wild just want to be able to get rid of all the Verizon bloat ware. Any suggestions?

I would suggest the SC Milestone ROM as it will have everything you need and you can start with post #4 if you don't want to read all the change logs and such.

Of course if you just want to root look at this guide to ROOT.

It's a bit of a scavenger hunt, but it has all the materials you will need (links are still good, just checked). I don't know how new you are to this, but if you find yourself asking "What is Clockworkmod?" and "What is Odin?" make sure you do more reading first. The guides that the helpful users who've already posted in this thread provided will help. If you're already a pro, get to it! Happy rooting!

Just use that XDA post to root the stock ROM and use Titanium Backup to uninstall the crap.
