Rooted and modded. Now what?

I rooted my Optimus S using gingersnap. Then installed a custom recovery and then installed CM7 Scott Pilgrim. Looking back I now see that this is an old ROM and there are probably better ones out there.

What is the best ROM for the Optimus at the moment. Is it now easy for me to try out new mods just by loading them on my sdcard and flashing from custom recovery? Is that all I have to do.

I've seen mention of Dans ROM, Kreven ROM, and OptiRom. I suppose all of these are better than scott Pilgrim?

Also, I noticed that after installing a custom ROM my quadrant scores went up to about 750. How can I get more out of this phone? I also heard there was a way to enable more memory for apps? It this true?

Opti-Rom and G-Rom are ZVH radios and are not compatible with your phone unless you upgrade and re-root. for VD, Reborn, Drew's CM7 Port, and Kraven's CM7 port are what's the most current, with Kraven's being the most UTD.

LOL. I was forced to upgrade to ZVH and downgraded to ZVD on purpose just to root and mod. Didn't realize I could root and mod ZVH.

Serves me right for not doing enough research prior to modding. I was just so pissed off with stock gingerbread that I was compelled to root. Maybe I'll try Kraven's Rom. Have you used it and do you think it's better than the scott pilgrim rom I'm using?

Thekraven's CM7 builds are much newer but will not work on the ZVH radio.

i ran drewwaltons CM7 for a long time and never had issue with it. I recently switched to kraven's CM7 and it is also has given me no errors whatsoever and its also a little more up to date.

Okay I switched to TheKraven rom and it's really nice. Better then the old rom. I really like it. My quadrant score went again again after installing Kraven. Now it's 980. Not bad.

stock Sprint GB = 590
Scott Pilgrim CM7 = 750
TheKraven CM7 = 980.

Loving TheKraven rom so far. Only thing is I miss the voicemail app that came as a stock app on the Optimus S. Is there a way I can get that back? Maybe an APK I can install?

I just installed the latest gROM (it comes with gingerkernel and it's overclocked). My quadrant score is 1126 now. Seems really nice, stable, everything works. I'll see how battery life is over the next few days but it seems that it has good battery life too.

You have a link to the thread I couldn't find it. Will this let me get voicemail from my Sprint number rather than my Google Voice number?

Running kraven 10-10 build runs beautiful quadrant scores of 1180-1220 oc 787 and 600 with performance setting and bobs kernal! I believe its the best running kernal out there!!!

Ok vvm doesn't work on cm7, but if you download the sprint-vvm-5.1.0.48 install it then create a backup in titanium backup, delete the vvm from your phone and restore the backup as app and data vm worked for me try it out might for you! I'm not at a. Computer right now or I would attach the napkins! Good luck:)
