Hey guys, first time poster long time lurker here lol, Anyways, today I rooted my EVO via the new Unrevoked version, everything went smooth, flashed Cyanogen from Rom Manager, all was good but I noticed maps/market were missing. I started messing with the phone to the point where is now sitting on the white htc evo 4g loader screen, and it wont go past that.

I have access to the hboot screen but aside from that that's it. I've tried pretty much all the options in recovery mode to no avail. I believe my problem is that I deleted the OS and my phone has nothing to boot to.

Any help will be greatly appreciated :o

Some info about the phone:
Hardware version 0003
2.15.00.11.19
3.70.651.1

Alright, can you boot in to recovery, I'm confused from your post that it says you're stuck in bootloader but tried all the recovery things.

If you can get in to recovery just re-flash Cyanogen, it'll re-install everything you need.

I have access to ClockwordMod Recovery, using my wives evo I have downloaded and placed 2 roms on my sdcard, but when i try to install it, it comes to a point where it says "installation aborted" I always do a wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition btw.

Thanks for the prompt replies guys.

wipe: data, system, cache, dalvik, sdcard-ext, sdcard/.adroid_secure (you have to do erase all user data to get some of these), then manually erase the rest of the partitions. then try to install Cyanogen.

Can I ask if you updated your recovery using Rom Manager before your phone got like this?

alright, gonna try that in a sec, yes, I tried updating rom manager but it kept telling me it was only for premium users and kept force closing after it.

wiped everything and rom keeps giving me "intallation aborted"

here's what it says:

Copying files...
E:Can't symlink /system/xbin/zcip
E: Failure at line 64
symlink busybox SYSTEM:xbin/zcip
Installation aborted.

Ok now Im really screwed lol, after the last attempt to flash the rom, now everytime I try to go into ClockwordMod Recovery I get the phone with the red triangle :(.... oh man...

Should I just take it to Sprint and pray they don't find out is rooted? or will they know I messed with it.... /sigh

Na you're fine, that means the stock recovery is on the phone. On the white screen does it say S-ON or S-OFF at the top?

ok great, I'm making a file now for you to flash the latest version of clockwork recovery through hboot, give me one sec and I'll update this post when it's done.

edit:

Grab this file: http://www.mediafire.com/?h44c7y88b8totpe

Put it on the root of your sdcard and turn your Evo on in to bootloader (where you're stuck at now), if it says fastboot usb at the top of the screen, select bootloader, it will stall a second as it reads the file on the sdcard, then it will ask if you want to apply the update, hit yes, when it asks to reboot, hit no, then from the menu select recovery, your phone will reboot in to recovery. From that point, install your ROM!

woot that got me back into the recovery but my roms are still installation aborted, do you mind passing me a link to a working rom, maybe im not getting them right, thanks

You should generally wipe everything. I do this:

erase user data (this gets rid of the cache and sdcard/.adroid_secure), then i manually erase: data, system, cache, boot, sd-ext, then I go to advanced and erase dalvik. This is overkill to be sure but it's a good way to get your phone "clean" (side note: if you use rom manager, just go select "wipe data" when prompted after you select a new rom to install).

You should re-download a ROM, might be a bad copy, if you want Cyanogen, try this:
