Rooted OGP will not boot into CWM recovery

So I rooted my phone today (checked it with root checker and it is rooted). I flashed Clockwork Mod custom recovery with Rom Manager and got the "you have successfully flashed...!!" message. I then use rom manager to boot into CWM recovery mode and it always goes to stock recovery. I've scoured the internet to find a solution, or even a reason for this? I can't make a android backup, so I haven't been able to flash a custom rom on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi again...ok, so now it boots into recovery, but I cannot flash anything... I get installation started, installation aborted! no matter what. Im not getting a status with it (I've read the recommendations on how to fix the status 7 error, but this is not that) and really, I'm getting to the point of big frustration. Any help would be SOOO greatly appreciated.
