I am new the nexus but have been reading a lot about whether my tab is rooted or not. Being new to the tab and not very saving with technology what does this mean? Is it better to be rooted or not and how do I change from being rooted or not. I have tried googling but to advanced for me lol.

Right now if you have not done anything to your nexus it is NOT rooted. To root your device you have to manually do so. When it comes to a nexus device I feel like you do not need to root to remove bloat because it is as vanilla as you can get on a not rooted device. If you have any more questions on how or if to root I would do some more google searching to get a feel for it. If you are not tech savvy I would not root your device.

by default all android devices come without root. you N10 is not rooted out of the box
you said it yourself, Its too advanced for you. so the answer is don't root. just enjoy your tablet.

"rooting" simply means gaining gaining privileged access to the system. Though it does work a little differently, In the Linux world (which Android is part of), the "root" account is similar to the "administrator" account in Windows. If you don't have access to the root account, you can't make changes to the operating system and/or system applications.

In general, Android devices are intended to be run without root access for the user -- you can still install apps and change certain settings. If you're not sure if you need root, then you probably do not.

There are a LOT more reason to root besides removing bloatware.
