My phone is rooted and Pandora is on it and MP3 store and a few other apps, e./g. clock that I really would like to delete but there are no options to do so. I went to settings>manage apps> but there is no delete options. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

there are a few ways to do this. you can remove it with ADB or even terminal emulator using scripts (i have no idea what they are). the easiest way is to download an app call "root explorer" from the market. you have to pay for it (i think 2 or 3$) but the app can go into your system files (it seems that pandora and the MP3 store are in your system files) and then manually just delete the apk and poof.... they are gone haha

I had a feeling that was the only way. Root explorer that is. What is ADB?

Here you go

The commands should be good to use on any android platform in which you have root. If you don't have the SDK installed on your computer then you can't use ADB. You can use a free app in the market called Terminal Emulator, and skip the ADB Shell part (start at "su). When you get to "ls -a", you'll get a list of apps installed on your phone within the /system/app directory. Know what you are deleting because you can have problems by deleting the wrong files. Be sure to Nandroid prior to deleting apps just in case you need to revert back.

Thanks for the help. My real problem is that when I check data usage on the web, it shows that I have used so much data when I never go on the web and receive about 10 emails a day. I don't use Pandora and even had my phone shut off and it still showed usage. I am beside myself. I called Verizon and they were no help. I use task killer to watch what the phone is using and I don't see anything. I don't go on the markeplace because I want to monitor usage. What should I do?

Using a terminal emulator on the phone enter these commands:

su
top -m 5 -n 1

It will show the top 5 processes currently running on the phone, including apps. If something is running that you don't remember starting then it could be the source of the problem provided the app requires a data connection.

Also, be sure to check all your background apps (facebook, twitter, email sync etc.) and check the frequency in which they are downloading data.

When you shut off your phone did you fully power it off?

Yes, I totally powered it down. I think it something to do with Ultimate Droid. I think it's 9. something. Going to upgrade to 10. and hope for the best. My usage went nuts after I rooted. I don't use twitter, no one cares where I go. vbg.
