I am looking to buy off my contact for my galaxy s3 and sell it then buy the new note 3. But my s3 us rooted and I'm wondering if the person i sell my s3 to will be able to hook it up to a new plan/ carrier or whatever?

Rooting has no effect on whether someone can port the phone to another carrier. But the S3 is pretty universal, so it shouldn't be much of a problem.

CDMA phone? Probably no problem. The "associates" (who were probably selling hamburgers last week) don't really care.

GSM phone? They just put their SIM card in the phone (no reason to tell the carrier that you're doing a hardware swap) and go.

i have the s3 sprint flashed to page plus and i want to root it however i just want to make sure it wont mess up service becuz its flashed.
