I really want to root my dna but don't want to brick it. Want to check out sense 5. Is there any good video tutorials out there? Or anyone in MI want to help me :-). I rooted my evo 4g but that was about 4 or 5 years ago seemed easier then.

You need to go to xda and look at beaups moonshine bootloader unlock tool. It's not hard and once you achieve s-off it's super easy to Rom with Rom manager. I'm running newts nos M7 Rom (sense5). It's also on xda in DNA sub forum. You have to have the ota 2.04 from verizon.

U don't happen to have a link for u. If not I can find it. So S-off will give u root access. No need to do anything else?

It should be stickied in the droid DNA forum or one of the sub forums. You will need to unlock the bootloader, s-off, and root. I personally didn't root because I used the revone method, I just flashed rooted ROMs. After you unlock and s-off, you're going to want to flash a custom recovery and make a nandroid backup immediately. After that you are free to flash ROMs. I can walk you through the steps of flashing a recovery and a ROM if needed. I don't use ROM manager.

The only two sense 5 ROMs I used, hatka supreme and digital dream m7, were both rooted. It will say in the description. It will say something like "SU access," "rooted," or "superuser."

They have un-rooted ROMs?

By the way I believe there is a video now for the moonshine method on windows, it should be in the moonshine thread on xda. I would link you but I'm on my phone and it's kind of a position haha. Just search for beaups moonshine method DNA on xda-developers forums and it should pop up.

I don't know anything about the manager. I use fasboot to flash recovery, adb to push the boot.img, and I drag and drop the ROM into storage and install via SD in recovery..
