Rooting Eris with 2.1 to Froyo 2.2

I am planning on Rooting my VZW Eris with 2.1 on it to Froyo 2.2.
I have read and plan on using the instructions on this link:

But for my ROM, I downloaded kaosfroyo-v39.zip

Is that all I need to do this?
I want to make sure before I turn my phone into a Brick. LOL

Yes. Just copy that Kaos Froyo zip file (do not unzip it - copy the whole zip file) to your SD card on your phone. The steps in the fourth post of the rooting thread will walk you through installing Kaos. Follow those steps carefully - you will want to run a Nandroid backup of your existing setup (so you can Nandroid restore back to what you have before installing Kaos in case it doesn't work); you'll want to wipe Dalvik cache and Wipe data/factory reset. Do not skip these important steps.

There may be an issue with GPS and the browser. If so, there is another file that you'll have to flash, just as if you were flashing the ROM. See this post: xda-developers - View Single Post - [ROM]KaosFroyo V39 [12/19] [FROYO]
