So I've had the DNA for a few months now, and have seen tutorials online for various things to do to the phone like S-off, and what not.

I'm not new to rooting by any means, I rooted my Droid 1 back in the day, and rooted my HTC Thunderbolt when I bought it.

The reason why I'm posting this here is because I don't understand the jargon on the tutorials on xda too well and I'm not too sure where to start in order to get my phone rooted. So my question is, what are the steps I should take in order to gain root access to my phone, and which tutorials should I follow, because many of the tutorials are as old as November, and I'm not sure if they're still relevant.

Also, are there any good ROM's for the DNA?

Thanks for all the help guys!

Haha, I have the same questions but I am a complete noob at rooting and unlocking and such. Do you have the latest ota? I am so lost on all the jargon but I do remember having heard that with the ota the bootloader was relocked.

That's true if you did the OTA currently unable to root and unlock but one they have a work around I'd be glad to help you both.

Yeah, unfortunately I did do the OTA. I was having the no SIM card issue, and was hoping that might fix it. Come to think of it I haven't had that issue in a while...

But it would be awesome to get some help when they do unlock the bootloader! I can follow instructions just fine, and I'm not afraid to run scripts or anything as I have a bit of experience with Unix and scripting. I'm just not sure what order to do things, the Moto Droid was soooo easy back in the day haha.

Thanks!
