Does anyone have any suggestions on rooting the Samsung Galaxy 7.7? I really like the tablet but I know it could be sooo much better! I have never rooted any of my other devices but I think I am willing to take the leap on this one if it's possible. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

you know what root can do right? its not like iOS jailbreak.
you can do everything with Android without roothing that iOS people do after jailbreaking.

I have read about some of the advantages (and possible disadvantages) of rooting in some of the forums. I am just wondering if rooting will make the device more efficient, save battery by eliminating bloatware, etc.

Simply rooting, no. Removing bloat, maybe, but, probably barely. Flashing a custom ROM, that's where you'll start to see some improvement.

But I would first have to root the device, right? I just haven't found many people working on ROMs for the Galaxy 7.7. It appears to be the red headed stepchild in the Galaxy Tab line-up.

Yes, you need to root to flash. Try looking for a CM ROM. I would think you could find CM 9 for your device. It probably wont be on the main page. You might have to spend some time in Google looking for it, but, I would think it's there.
