Rooting Help

Ok, 2nd thread for me so please be patient

With so many threads It's a little confusing so what I need is the different steps to take for rooting & upgrading the OS

I am not rooted, running 2.2 & .340

Do I need to get Gingerbread 1st before rooting - do I get .588 or can I just go straight to .595??

given that it has been discovered that you have to be on 2.3.340 to update when the OTA comes out (you wont be able to update from .595 as originally thought), if i were you, i would hang tight until the OTA happens, unless youre trying to use GB right this second.

if youre trying to get GB right now, you have to root to use the apps you need to apply the leaked GB, so that would be your first step. from there you could flash the .588 update, and from there flash the .595 update. but when the OTA pushes out, youd have to sbf back to .340 again if you wanted to install the update
