I waited to root my phone until this new update came out. I now want to root the phone, so I can use it as a hotspot. Can someone provide me with a link with reliable instructions for rooting my Samsung continuum. Also, which apps do people like for a free wireless tether. Thanks in advance

Deposit Files

1. extract the program to your desktop
2. enable usb debugging on your phone (settings/applications/development)
3. plug phone into computer
4. open superoneclick
5. click root. let it do it's thing. It'll take a few minutes
6. reboot

wifi_tether_v3_1-beta11.apk - android-wifi-tether - WiFi Tether for Root Users 3.1-beta11 *** BETA *** - Wireless Tether for Root Users - Google Project Hosting

What I use.
1. download
2. plug phone in and mount usb storage (drag down notifications, click on the 'USB connected' pane, click mount usb storage on the screen with the android and usb plug, then click ok on the pop up)
3. drag the file to your sdcard
4. close explorer window,
5. click stop usb storage. Wait for media scanner to finish
6. open 'my files' app, and find 'wifi tether' and click on it
7. install
8. open it up and go to settings. under device profiile, choose 'fascinate' and under setup method, choose wext ad hoc, unless you are using it to connect a ps3 or some other non adhoc device.
9. set you passcode and ssid, if you want
10. profit

JB, go to the hyperlink named 'deposit files' and download the superoneclick 2.3.3 zip

When it downloads, open the folder, and double click on superoneclick.exe. It will ask you if you want to extract the files, click yes. It will extract to the same folder as the zip is in. Open the new superoneclick folder, and double click superoneclick.exe in that one. It will open the program.

Next, go to settings/applications/development on your phone and make sure usb debugging is checked.

Now, plug your phone into your computer, and click 'root' in the superoneclick program. Let it do it's thing, and it will tell you that you are rooted.

reboot.

That's it.
