It's been awhile since I rooted but since it is my thread showing the link for rooting, that is the method I used! I also went through the steps to change the Software Version to show 9.9.9 so I don't lose root with updates.
My Tablet now looks like either the stock Nook or an Android Tablet depending on what I choose when I click on the "n" button on the bottom. If I choose "library" it goes to my Nook Library, if I choose "shop" it goes into the Nook Store, if I chose "home" I have several options-ADW.Launcher, Go Launcher EX and Home which goes into the stock Nook Home. I use Go Launcher and run it w/Softkeys mainly, so that it runs as an Android Tablet unless I want to read one of my Nook Books then I go back to my library using the "n" key again.
I remember when I rooted tho there were a lot of options I could choose on just how much root I wanted. I installed it with absolutely no Nook functions when I first ran it and didn't like it set up that way. So I went through the install again and chose an option that allowed me to use the Nook functions as well as running it as a Tablet.
You should be able to find all the answers you need as far as the steps to root and such in the XDA forums.
Enjoy!
