Rooting Note 4

Hi Guys,

If ever this will be my first time rooting a phone. Initial questions: how can i back up my Stock Rom for warranty or incase i want to go back to the stock ROM? is that the CWM Recovery>? whats the difference between ROM and Kernel? Does every ROM work with every Kernel and vice versa? any good ROMS out there for Note 4?
