I've had my G for about a month now. Originally, I had the intent of rooting right away. Since being occupied with other things, I figured I might as well get a solid feel for LG's UI. It's pretty decent, I have to say. I came from HTC so, that's still partially where my heart lies, and imo nothing beats stock, but it's a solid interface. Still, I've decided that I'm going to root anyway, just to give myself the freedom and customization that I want in Android. My question to the forums is: Of you, who have rooted, with which OG variant, which method, and what have your experiences been since? I'd also love some screencaps of how you have utilized the switch.

Thanks!

Coming to LG from htc as well I find myself almost let down in a way ....but not really...I just think I had high expectations for this phone based off the spec sheet.....but with proper tools ( desktop with normal operating system ) rooting this device was far and away the simplest....same with unlocking the bootloader thanks to the good folks at freegee....but whatever you do don't set your sights on figuring out how to be the first person to root this bad boy with Windows RT (mobile) operating system. Can you say ...nightmare! ....rom/dev selection is where we slip here in my opinion....if your like me ....although I greatly do appreciate all the many great aspects of pure vanilla android..... I did I guess develop a taste for a rom/launcher overlay such as sense and lg home just to polish up the look mostly and some other mods as well I'm sure..... So with that...I guess the only bump in the road if there is one would be developer support and rom selection...this device for whatever reason never got the spotlight like some other notable favorites out there and so therefore there just doesnt seem to be as much variety or options if you will with this beast ...I mean phone.... I think the situation is improving daily and new roms and chatter of new ideas for development appear to be ramping up albeit quitely over at xda but I will say that as always the work that is done there is truly amazing and I'm sure in the end all bases will be covered....
