Rooting the Samsung Prevail on Android 2.3.6

Hey looking for help to root my samsung galaxy 2.3.6 I see I'm not the only with the problem . If I could get some help it would be greatly appreciated

HI would greatly like some step-by-step instruction (i am on dummy level when it comes to this stuff) on how to root my 2.3.6 prevail... i have macbook that runs leopard

i can access PC if need be but would prefer not too

I used odin to root mine.
All things root has a very good step by step guide as well as roms that are compatable. Once the phone was rooted I backed up images and music to my pc. Partitioned my sd card and restored it with the 187MoD.honeybread6 rom. Then used sm manager to tweak my settings. And terminal emulator to remove stock apps. I then had close to 400mb of internal storage before restoring my apps with titanium backup. And I was done. The only issue I have is my bluetooth. When its turned on my phone resets over and over until turned off. I do need assistance with that. If anyone can help

Im on my second prevail! My 1st one I rooted all by myself & it worked! As a matter of fact it kept trying to do a update for tha last 3 + months but for sum reason my former prevail wouldnt let it update to 2.3.6 & then my prevail stopped charging so I got another fone, brand new Prevail bout 2 weeks ago & Ive tried rooting with tha same programs tha samsung driverz & tha prevail/replenish root! Just doesent work? Does anybody know a easy, painless way so I can get my fone back to what I know it can be, "Tha Little Phone That Could!!!"

Need help rooting my prevail. I don't know a lot about rooting at all and not very techy but I don't like the phone in it's current state and it seems rooting can give me control to change a lot of things. I'm on the 2.3.6 and having a hard time finding any info on how to root it. Everything I keep reading says I have to flash it back to 2.3.5... No idea how to even do that. Any help would be great.

Im just here to tell you guys the bad thing if you have it updated to the latest version you're screwed there is no way unless you flash clock work mod and then flash a rooted kernel

Hello, i was trying to Root mines & saw you're reply saying if help was needed that you could....HELP, haahahaa...i ended up trying to set it back to factory thinking that could reverse the update, but failed. Any advice, step-by-step instruction would be Greatly appreciated!

There is not 1 app on the Prevail that has to be on there all of them can be erased when phone is fully rooted, maps, contacts everything can be removed when your phone has been rooted
