Rooting today? [let me help you!]

sad day for me today giving the TB to my girl, and im staying with a flip phone to leave the account at 9.99... crashed my my car total so i have to save money for a new one :'( ... i will still be here willing to help people out and to mod my girls TB ...

Really sorry to hear that - looks like the engine took a lot of damage.

I don't think the phone is the issue its the monthly fees

Sup, Miami? I'm in Miami, too. Oye...I'm dying to root my phone so I can remove bloatware, but I'm a noon who came from another OS. Is there any place to find the most basic info? I'm talking about: what is flashing the phone, what is a ROM, etc? All I find are "how to" instructions and, although they seem easy enough to follow, I'm worried about what comes after rooting.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'd be willing to put some $ into that fund. I could definately use the help rooting my buddy's TB. I'm not new to rooting at all, but this one just doesn't want to work for me and I've tried 6 or 7 times. Using AutoRoot Everything appears to have installed correctly, but I cannot give SU access to any of my apps.

If you have a Mac you can follow the [Mac Procedure]: How to Root the HTC Thunderbolt guide...

If not, then I'm assuming some flavor of Linux - post your distro and I'm sure someone can give you some tricks there...
