Hey Up,
Not looking to get into ROM's or anything like that, just want root for the wifi tether, maybe some font changes, not even looking to remove the bloat.
Rooted my Droid Pro with the Z4ROOT but too busy with 2 kids to learn to root it myself.
Hoping you can help me out when you can.
Thanks,
Eric
Can you explain to me the benefit of rooting the phone? This has definitely got me curious..
Think of it like this, when you own a computer don't you want administrator permissions? The ability to write and re-write files? If so root. If you like your guest account, don't root. =)

Does it improve the quality of the phone? Increase battery life? memory? etc. Or is it just like changing the appearance of the phone's theme, etc?
Sorry, I've never had an Android until 48-hours ago.
Yes, yes, yes, and yes. Haha.
Here's a little more in depth explanation. http://forum.androidcentral.com/ha...ed-questions-concerns-about-rooting-here.html

I'm def intrigued, but knowing me, I'll do something wrong and make my phone a useless piece of plastic.
Would love to get rid of some the "bloatware" as it's called, stuff that came with the phone that you can't get rid of.
If you feel uncomfortable doing it but you really want to there are two options...
1. Wait for one click root method
2. Let upstream do it for you =)

When does one click root method come out?
And what all would upstream remove, improve by rooting it?
Sorry, I feel like a baby learning how to walk for the first time with this phone.
TBD
All he would do is give you superuser ability
