Couldn't really find the most appropriate place to put this besides here... My old phone was beginning to have problems (background apps and anything that tried to open crashed non-stop) and is quite old, (factory reset quite a few times already) so I decided it was time for a new phone. I was looking at the LG Volt but by the time my phone totally went berserk, I still didn't have enough spending cash to buy it so I ended up getting the ZTE Speed for $40 as it was cheaper and has close to the same specs.

After downloading apps that I previously had, I ran out of room... So I just did what I always did and moved them to my MicroSD card....and found that feature was removed... So, the only thing I saw that can get around that is to root so now I'm deciding that I can't avoid it so I started looking into how to root my phone....

Between shady websites that apparently were created a month ago, to applications that apparently send data to some server, I could not find a reliable source for how to root this phone....so... is it just impossible to root a phone that's not a billion dollars? or does anyone know a method that isn't as shady...?

Edit=if anyone who does not already have the phone wants to know about storage. It has 8 GB storage but seems to use about all but about 4.1 GB of whatever "8 GB" is....

bump...

And more people mean Gingerbread more often then gigabyte when they say GB here? O.O

Hi,
I'd really like to know this too. Did you find anything at all? I'll have to return the phone if it can't be rooted :(.

I'm not sure but I think you can use towelroot...

PS: It says it works on samsung devices only but some devices it works on even if it's not samsung. just let me know...

From what I have seen there is no way to currently root the ZTE Speed. I have tried multiple suggestions from all over the net to no avail. The only way I could see it possible to root this phone is in FTM mode.

It would be nice to root because the phone is running low on internal storage and I have 16GB of sd/space.

Some have claimed success rooting the ZTE Speed? The only thing I can conclude is Boosts Update may have closed that exploit. But I cannot confirm that 100%

No one click roots work for boost mobile zte speed, except Kingroot which you can obtain a temporary root by running benchmark (·Antutu) and other background apps to bog the system down, but it will unroot itself within minute. That's from personal experience. As far as pc root methods I have no idea fore I just got the phone 3 days ago and haven't had time.
Find a working method please let me know?
