Is there a way to set the always on display to rotate?

I often charge my phone in landscape at night if I'm watching a movie or something. But then if I wake-up in morning, or during the night, my clock is hard to read since it's in portrait.

Thanks,
G

Nope, unfortunately lockscreen and AOD are always portrait. Furthermore, they're always 'facing up'.

Thanks for the info.

Is there any way to change the clock app that AOD uses?

Only those included with AOD, I'm afraid. You can 'skin' them with Themes, but in reality those are just changes in background images.

You can, however, activate the Edge gesture to show the clock and notification ticker (if selected). That way, when the device is off or showing AOD, you just swipe up/down (or sideways, since you're in landscape) along any edge and you'll see an appropriately-oriented clock.

Settings->Walpapers and Themes->Themes (Top)->AOD (Bottom)

Apparently there are landscape orientation themes in there but as everyone shows their prettyest prtrait pics as default so is is not clear what their basic clock looks like or if they have landscape. A search of landscape shows AOD screens with pictures of hills on them.

I might have a wade through at the weekend nut if anyone knows any of the devs it's worth an ask for landscape versions.

I would be well up for finding one as my AOD only runs from 05:30 to 07:30. Earlier than that I don't worry about the time. It sits in my spiderpodium landscape though for the right pointed charging cable.

Checking back in on this...with Oreo and with customization programs, is there a way now for using the clock in landscape?

(I meant to post this on the Note 8 forum)

Nope, still all portrait. There is one 'landscape' clock included that shows in the edges, but that doesn't let you see notification icons, just clock (and it's not the fancy one you can customize, it's just a plain text clock on the edge).

Hi I just preordered the s10+, I somehow changed my Always On Display to landscape, and now I can't figure out how to change it back, would anyone know by any chance?

You can definitely do it now, just can't remember how lol

Same issue here. I didn't even change the to landscape mode through settings. Just tapped multiple times on somewhat frozen screen at AOD and the it changed to landscape. Can't figure any way to go back. Definitely a bug here.

Finally managed through > setting/lock screen/always on display/screen orientation to change to portrait mode.

Neat little trick>Double tapping on the time in AOD also gives options of managing AOD features. Can change the orientation or screen brightness from there only.

To do this go to settings. Type in the settings search bar "always o" then it should auto populate "always on display" under the lock screen section. Click on "always on display" then screen orientation and change to portrait.
