Howdy y'all
I sure hope someone has a solution for me, because I am literally physically sick over what I have done to the gift I got my wife for Christmas.
I upgraded her OG Evo 4G and got her the S3. When rooting it I have put it into a state where the phone boots, but I don't have a working screen.
I can get into the recovery I installed during the root process, CWM 5.0.2.
I can get into the download ( or Odin mode?)
Normal boot, I hear the sound that goes along with the Sprint splash screen, but I see nothing on the Screen after the "Samsung Galaxy S III"
After the first go at rooting I did get into the OS and download Busybox from the Play store, but it told me I was not rooted. So I tried the root process again.
This is not the process posted here. It is one I found on XDA. Where you use Odin 3.04 to load clockworkmod.tar and then flash CWM_SuperUser_v3 in recovery.
It was after the second time I ran this that things went bad.
In my efforts to fix it I have done a factory data reset from within recovery. I guess that turns off USB debugging.
I don't know if it's the recovery, or the bootloader on a Samsung being different than my HTC, but I can't seem to mount the USB in recovery so I can transfer files to the phone. I'd like to try the root method posted here, but I can't seem to transfer files onto this phone to fix my problem until after my problem is fixed.
My first thought was to return it to the Radio Shack where I bought it and play dumb. But If I can get to download mode and see the fact that it's been modified 11 times, than I figure they can too.
I need to get this phone to a workable state. Preferably rooted.
I feel like such a tool for wrecking her Christmas.
