LG also denied rumors of making the Nexus 5, and... they're making it.
Companies do things like these all the time. Sometimes they're telling the truth, but other times... not so much.

You're right.

The Nexus 5 has not been announced yet, sure there's rumors and leaks but nothing announced.

I still don't see how amazon could give a phone away for free without some type of monthly fee. Amazon is a business, they survive by making money.
