Rumor of Droid Incredible receiving update today

ok, don't want to be a noob, but...i've been concentrating on the 720p part of the update. when it comes to the mobile hotspot, i know it allows you to connect other devices such as a laptop to the internet. what else does it do? i keep reading about tethering but i'm not sure what all that does for you. please be gentle!

I know you can check for updates on your phone....but once it is available, shouldn't it automatically do it?

Basically, if you're say, in a car or something, you can connect to the internet via the service from your phone. Basically uses your phone's internet to provide internet for your computer.

Since when has pdanet had wireless tethering?

The only wireless tethering PDaNet give you is Bluetooth tethering.

i see that a couple people think it's cool to poke fun at others just because they would like to have the better features that are supposed to be coming. maybe it's time for the kind of policy they have on other android forums for no tolerance of putting other posters down for what ever reason

Flash 10.1 won't be for this update. You'll need to wait for Froyo.

Still don't believe this update is even real. I will once there are real reports of people getting an update, but at this point the reports are all "we heard people have received it...."

Hope it turns out to be real though. Seems like a reasonable update at least.

The fact that there are leaked versions give it credibility at least.

The only reason I did the manual update was cuz the leak was "signed" meaning it passed Verizon testing.
