Rumour: Android 5.1 coming with silent mode, improved battery management

5.0.1 OTA is waiting on my nexus 4. I'm just unsure if I'm ready to leave a perfectly great running kit Kat and regret it!!

IIABDFI (If It Ain't Broke...). You'll regret it. Leave it waiting. 5.0.1 is a patch of the terrible 5 (Lollipop) 'upgrade' and, as such, is a partly fixed OS.

It's possible that a new Nexus device that came with 5 / 5.0.2 pre-installed runs okay, but an OTA install over a "perfectly great running" OS would seem to be A Bad Idea, based on others' posts - and my own experience.

"None" is the silent....

Please FIX the ram usage that causes lagggg!!

Are you kidding? When Adam saw Eve he knew she was the hottest chick in the garden.

The none stops everything. Silent would just stop the sound

And the silent mode doesn't disable alarms. How is it "silent," then?

I'm surprised that so many people are complaining about the removal of the silent mode. I am perfectly happy with the new Priority / None mode Google implemented for Lollipop. They are a lot more useful than the silent mode, IMO.

I wonder if Google moves to further unification of Android with Chrome OS, like Microsoft did with Windows 10. It would be really great to have a new Windows competitor in desktop OS.
