Does the back plate run hot typically...

I've also noticed battery lasting only 6 hours too.

Could you post a screen shot of your battery statistics? That'll help identify an issue if there is one. Regarding the heat, hopefully a G2 user can pop-in and provide insight on that.

My phone is running super hot when the battery gets low, I can barely touch it. My camera also will not work if my battery is 20% or less.

Yeah now that you mentioned that it does appear to get hot at the end of the battery cycle.

I'll post a screen shot once its drained again.

I've also noticed very poor reception strength via the bars. In fact I'm almost regretting switching from the iPhone 5s to this phone due to reception as it even goes into roam mode (turned on home only in settings but didn't help much as zero bars at times). And not a dig at android as I even liked my sgs4 better as well at least reception wise. Love the g2 in "every" respect though.

Most likely you are on a fringe area of service and it is constantly seeking a signal. That is one of the big reasons for a "hot phone". The other obvious reason is available rogue app, that is why they asked for battery use.

The screen is highest typically at around 51%; then android is near 17% followed by Google play services at the same. But I'll post once its run down again
