Runs out of memory space too soon.

My LG came with the Android operating system loaded with apps. The problem is I can only add one or two apps before I get the memory full. The operating system is only using the system memory and I guess for a phone this cheap you don't get much to start with.

Is there a way to allocate some of the removable memory for use by apps?

I always have to uninstall google + to free up space but within a day it installs it back and I am back with error messages. The only apps I have installed beyond the default apps that come already loaded is LINE chat, a world clock and KSBW news alerts.

How much total storage space do you have? To be more precise, what does the box say? Now, keep in mind, Android OS takes about 4 GB.

Ok.
Now, go into Settings>Storage>and toward the top should say the total memory available. What does that number say?

Menu > system settings > Apps > Installed (sort by size). Clear the cache of the top apps using a lot of memory. Often times you'll find the browser, FB or other social sites using a lot of memory and preventing apps from being installed due to insufficient storage.

The thing I notice is the system memory is pretty much used up and the SD card is full because I have it loaded with movies and music, but the internal memory is just sitting there basically unused. It seems like when the system memory gets low it might be able to use the internal memory. But I just don't know how to tell the phone to use it.

Edit: After further digging into my phone I see that some of the after market apps can have the internal vs phone memory selected. But the lions share of the apps have that option greyed out. So maybe what I need to learn about how to keep apps that I have removed from automatically re-installing themselves. That is my biggest road block...I can remove apps...they just reinstall.

So I found an app that will let me use the SD storage but that only worked for a couple of the apps as the rest of the attempts triggered a "root access" error.

So it looks like I need to root my phone to get all the little tricks to work.

I took a quick look and it looks a little complex. Any help with that would be useful,

You need to root your phone and move some apps to sd card using Link2SD I think.. but you must make ext4 partition first on your sd card..
