Is Verizon generally the best bet for rural spots? I'm happy with att but will be moving to Western part of va. Not west va but the Western part of VA. Friends have said they think Verizon may work better there but they dont live there just visit occasionally so it's not the best judge.

Several years ago in Galax at the mountain music festival my Verizon phone was the only one with signal. Friends with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mo were having to use my phone because theirs would not work there. That was about 4 years ago so things may have changed.

The beauty of prepaid. Setup a cheap Verizon prepaid so now I'll have the best of both worlds.

Here's an update. In the spots I've been to both att and Verizon have been about equal. I still plan to keep my Verizon prepaid along with my att line since it's nice having a backup

We just moved to the country. Had my choice of slowww data plans through Dish or Direct TV. I decided to go with a hotspot instead. I just got it set up so can't say too much but so far so good.
