"Rush" of notifications when DND ends?

So I've noticed something odd in the latest update of my Samsung Galaxy S8...

DND now seems to block ALL notifications instead of just blocking the notification sound like it did in previous versions (i.e a 3 am facebook post would still show up but wouldn't "ding")

Now at 9am when my DND turns off, I get flooded with notifications. My phone dings left and right...

I was wondering if there's something (aside from the "Don't use DND" ) I can do about this.

My problem is a little different from yours in that my DND appears to be blocking the sound at the time, but once I turn it off I get a rush of notification sounds for notifications that I have gotten overnight. They all come in at once and stacked on top of each other. This never happened before the most recent update.

That's what mine does. I get nothing from 10p to 9a then whatever happened overnight in notifications all popup with the popups and sounds.

My "priority" exceptions seem unaffected.

Sometimes I like st sleep in and forget to turn off DND and then my phone goes bleep bleep bleebleep for 10 seconds.

It's like my phone is having a stroke or something. Scares the crap out of me now and then lol
