?s appearing in Sent Text Messages

When I send text messages, sometimes they say that there are question marks between every letter. So it looks like t?h?i?s?.. does anyone know what's going on? I use the text message thing that came on the phone. Thanks for any help y'all have!

Usually they are commas or other symbols that the recieving phone doesnt understand.
