Yes it helped, greatly. I have not put all my apps back on, but I am about 60% there.
It does erase your contacts, so sync them with Google and you will get them back. I removed my SD card to make sure nothing got erased. If you have something and it is not on your SD card, you WILL lose it.
After I did the reset, I let the phone go completely dead and then charged it fully.

		 I kinda was figuring it must be something like that.  So that's all it does, huh?  Just hang's out, waiting for someone to call, whilst using up the battery.

		 But keep in mind that the number is a percentage. Just because the percentage is high, it doesn't necessarily mean it's using a lot of battery, just that it's using more battery than other processes. For example, if the phone sits on your desk for 4 hours, the battery is at 92%, and your Cell standby battery percentage is 75%, you need to realize that is 75% of the 8% total train, which equals 6% of your battery life eaten by the cell standby...for four hours, that's very good.
