S-pen attach/detach sound

Does anyone know how to add a custom notification to list? Is it possible without root?

Use root explorer to navigate to /system/media/audio/UI/
in that folder three of the files are the Spen Ogg files (Pen_att_noti1 2 and 3).
Whatever sounds you want to replace the stock sounds must be renamed and placed here.
Rename one of the old files (pen_att_noti2.bak for example) then rename the new Ogg file to the original name of the one you renamed.

Yep, root must be required it won't let me write to that file

Thanks, I guess my reasons for rooting are growing . Custom s-pen sounds, Add any app to multi view,and using two different keyboards

There's no reason not to root really. It's safe and lets you do all sorts of handy stuff you can't do out of the box.

Well I went ahead and rooted so now I have the s-pen "light sabre" I wanted as well as any app to multi view and keyboard switcher all is well thanks guys!

@Uribam, I have a Note2. Not rooted. I tried the root explorer, and found the .ogg files for the s pen, and tried to delete, rename, or move, and it said unable because they are read only files. Do I need to be rooted to replace sound files, like the droplet noise for selecting screen items?
