S PEN on NOTE 5 just stopped working!

when i pull out the S Pen, nothing happens, it used to pull up the Action Screen for me to write on. when i pull up any note taking screen, the stylus wont write! how do i troubleshoot this?

Did you ever insert the S Pen the wrong way? Remember that this can break the phone's ability to tell when the S Pen has been removed, and therefore impact its ability to work correctly on the phone.

welll, i suspect that is what happened...what i mean by that is my son was messing with it, and i suspect he had it in the wrong way and damaged the sensor. i turn off S PEN detection, and can at least use the stylus now, but it wont detect when the S Pen is in or out. is my only solution now to have samsung fix the phone/sensor?

Ugh, that's a bummer.:'( If the sensor in the phone is broken, I believe you'd have to get it repaired. I'm not sure if Samsung will cover this under warranty, but considering that it was a design flaw on their part, they might agree to fix it. Call them and see. If they say no, I'd bring up the issue of this being a design flaw.

yea just finding time to do it...last time my wife took her phone in to samsung to get it warrantied, they took the phone for over a day. hard for me to conduct business without my phone...first world problems.

This is why it's not a bad idea to buy a cheapo backup phone, if you can afford it. Check eBay for an old S4 or something, or get one of the better budget/midrange phones (like the Honor 5X or ASUS Zenfone 2), which go for $199.
