S planner not syncing past events

Hi, just got the Samsung S7. So planner isn't syncing in past events beyond a couple of months ago. I also tried downloading Google calender app but the same thing happens. I can't see a setting saying sync from beginning of time or similar. I seem to remember having this issue on an old android device but can't remember how I resolved it. Thanks
