So I'm outside clearing snow with my snowthrower for about an hour. After I'm done I look at my phone and it's at the factory-new startup screen. It had been wiped clean. The only thing I can think of is somehow some ***** in our IT department wiped it remotely by accident. I don't think it's possible that the slight moisture had anything to do with activating the screen and entering an incorrect password ten times. No way that was it.

I've since been able to restore everything incliding my work profile and work apps with full access. No idea what else could have happened.

Possible your IT department did something remotely , because you would have to initiate a factory reset to wipe your device which I don't think you did , but if you have in lock screen settings under secure lock to factory reset after 15 unsuccessful tries that could do it also .

Worst part of the reset is that I'm unable to log back into my Microsoft Authenticator app and can't log into any outlook.com sites including my 20 years worth of photos and videos on onedrive. I'm now in a 30 day waiting period before Microsoft will let me reset my password and log into Authenticator.
