S10+: Icons on AOD now have a grey background, I hate it

[Android Central Question]

Previously Icons on the AOD had no background, providing a clean and neat aesthetic, but this morning I noticed they had gotten a gross grey background. Maybe I'm stupid, but I can't find a way to remove it. I really liked how it was before, with the vivid colors on select apps like messenger, snapchat etc, so I really just want it like stock, but without the grey background.

Hadn't noticed until you mentioned it. No way to turn that background off, unfortunately.

The grey background has always been there since Android Pie update
