What if you turn on Do Not Disturb? That might at least prevent you from being woken up in the middle of the night.

Nice Catch is only showing one thing close to the time of the alert. Android system power key, does anyone know what that is? I did turn off system sounds and have not heard it since but i have to test longer since the alert only seems to happen at 4:50 am

Android system power key I assume is the power button , you change any function with that ?

No the power button is still set at the default, and at 4:50 I wasn't using the phone, so my thought is whatever caused the notification woke the phone up and that's what Nice Catch is calling a system power key notification. I have been reading posts about this issue dated back to 2018, I can't believe Samsung had not fixed it yet.

I, too am getting the NBC chime about twice a day at random times. It is not a notification that shows up on the log. It is not an installed sound, either.

Did anybody ever figure this out?

Thanks.

I have also been plagued by the NBC chimes. When I put my phone in safe mode, I do not get the chimes. I have installed both Toast Source and Nice Catch and have not found the source. I uninstalled every recent app I downloaded and still get the chimes. Has anyone found the source?

Hi, welcome to AC!
Try turning notification off for chrome, to do that long press Chrome then tap info>go to notification and turn off and test

I had it in safe mode 2 days and never heard the chime.
Then it has to be a 3rd party app or application that was downloaded, so you should further delete apps until it goes away especially games

That's what I started doing, uninstalling apps I added just prior to hearing the chimes. I do not install any games (too old for that). I was hoping someone had found the pesky app that we had in common. I appreciate your help with this matter. I will continue with the downsizing of my app collection until I find it.

Ok , i know its not easy task if you have lot of apps but only way i know to rule out which one it is , your welcome.

There are number of threads about this on this forum as well as others (including Samung's own community). I haven't found any possible solution yet.

The source of my chimes was the local NBC affiliate's weather app. (in my case, KXAN in Austin, TX) The timing was always random (occasionally awkward) and it was very loud. They were not notifications. They did not show up on any logs.

Deleted the app. A shame, as it was, otherwise, very useful.

Give this man a cigar!

It'd be interesting to see if many (or all) of the various NBC affiliate apps have this kind of notification tone.
