S10+ with acer chromebook

My Acer R11 Chromebook, sees, and pairs with (exchanges numeric code) my S10+. During pairing process it shows "connected" just for a moment and switches to and remains "not connected". It shows up as a "connected device" and is enabled for Chromebook unlock, though doesn't.

Anyone have any tips to share? My previous, S9+, performed flawlessly.

The only thing I can suggest unpair and pair again.
