Hi guys
I just bought my new S10e

After upgrading to the latest android version and perform a factory reset, I started using it

My feeling is that is getting hot quite fast, even if is not in charging I'm uncomfortable holding it. Is it just me? My Iphone (that I use just for work) is basically stone cold while not connected to AC, same thing for my old S6 edge

thanks

Welcome to Android Central!

If your S10e is too hot to use and is uncomfortable to hold, please do not charge it and bring it back to where you purchased it. It could have a defective battery. If you just purchased it, perhaps you can exchange it for another S10e within your return period window.

What patch are you on? Since i got the January update earlier I've noticed my phone is quite warm...

As Morty says, if it's getting hot to the point that it's uncomfortable to hold you should stop using it and take it back.

How long have you had the phone? A brand new phone can often run a little warm right after setup, since it's still busy installing and updating apps (which takes energy).

hello, I have it since a couple of days, I think all the setup/installing should be done by now.
Maybe "uncomfortable" was too strong, It's not like a cup of hot tea, let's just say I can "feel it" in my hand, so probably the temperature of the surface is close to the human body
other devices in my past were almost cold, I don't know if is just a matter of getting use to it or what!

Thanks!

As B. Diddy stated, it may be because you were in the process of setting up the phone. The battery is also a little taxed at this point due to you setting it up (and being on it longer because you are playing with it/tweaking with it) - but if this hotness persists for a few days after you're finished setting it up, it's worth looking into.

Give it a reboot if you haven't already and see how that goes.

Where in the world are you? If you have an Exynos model i believe they run a little warmer than snapdragons.

Another thing to consider is the cell signal strength. Poor cell signal makes the phone work harder to maintain the signal, which can cause it to warm up a little.

Already done factory reset after the update of Android
I'm from Italy, it has Exynos

Just to be sure is not a matter of personal feeling: your S10e, after 10 minutes of low usage (browsing, messaging..) has quite the same temperature as when it is locked?

Like i say, give it a simple reboot, not a factory reset.

If there's a background process that's stuck that will kill it and Restart it.

Can try safe mode for a little see how it is .
