S20 FE, who's thinking about it?

Like to see screen shot of a carrier verizon phone software page if they have one .

Lol where is the UW anywhere?

For what it's worth, my Verizon version has the UW at the end of the name right on the box, "Samsung Galaxy S20 FE UW." There is no Verizon branding at all on the box.

Is "Ultra Wideband" (UW) a purely Verizon created term for mmWave 5G?

Got mine yesterday. Upgrade from a Pixel 2 XL. Wish I had come here first it would have been nice to get an additional $70 in accessories but $549 for the Verizon version is a deal. Did not really want to move away from the Pixel but their hardware strategy seems like a complete mess. Spec wise no comparison between Google 5 and S20 FE. I really like it. The screen is extremely nice, you really notice the 120Hz thing (especially browsing and in menus/settings) its very fast. More than that I really like the feel, actually prefer this plastic to glass on back, and I like the flat screen. Only issue is I didn't see the back button and pill option on the phone like the Pixel, they seem to have a sort of big pill thats a little cumbersome to use so close to the bottom of the phone, but 3 button works fine. UI is pretty unobtrusive. Icons maybe little too big. Sound is decent though phone call volume is a touch low even on Max, but great with headphones. Fingerprint reader a touch slower but face thing works brilliantly. Got the lime, great color. Feels high end even with the plastic. Haptic feedback better than Pixel 2XL. So better screen significantly faster higher refresh (not a camera person so wont comment) great feel. Wish they had added in a headphone jack would have been perfect. Hate the dongle.

You can still get the $70 accessories promo. I just had mine approved this morning.

Download the Shop Samsung app from Play.

Set up a Samsung account if you haven't already, sign in if you have.

Pull out the left side menu and go to My Inbox.

You should see the promo on the Promotions tab. Click to see if you're eligible. You'll need a proof of purchase during the pre-order period, like an invoice or email.

Acceptance of mine took less than 12 hours.

Oh wow. I will try that now. Would love one of the kickstand cases and the 25W charger they should have included to begin with

Yeah looks like it does not matter where you bought it.

Mine is under review. Will be a sweet bonus if approved. Incredible deal on a Day 1 phone.

My friend said that she's on jump with T-Mobile and that they said if you have at least two lines they'll give you a free line and a free FE phone. something about a $30 credit a month and she's going to get everything free. I don't know she said she's going to the store cuz it doesn't sound right. She's using a note 9 right now. I don't know the comparison and specs but I compared it with my S10 plus and I'm going to wait for the s21. But for people with a low budget that don't want to spend $1,000 or people that have an s9 this is like a great upgrade I think.
I didn't go this route. You needed to add new line for free phone, I did get S20 FE for free though. I can't complain. Might sell my massive s20 ultra lol.

Is there a preinstalled screen protector? If not anyone have any links to one thats not a 50 dollar one from Verizon?

I decided to pony up instead and get a S20 plus mint, $660 on swappa. Yeah its more expensive but its a superior phone.

If like my experience, it may be a bit confusing. There was a notification of my promo being accepted, but no indication of how to use it. No code anywhere.

In chatting with CS in the app (oiy), it turns out they email it to you.

I ordered my from T-mobile and it didn't come with preinstall screen protector and T-mobile does sell $40, lol.

Best buy does carry Zagg glass screen protector for this phone, $25. Amazon is weeks out of stock.

Wow glad I ordered some when I did! The reviewers said they came with protectors pre-installed--so I hesitated to order. I think the brand in stock was dmax armor and I think they're coming tomorrow.

I prefer the wet apply soft plastic protectors. In my experience, they stay on better (had this one on for almost 4 years now). They're also self healing. Glass feels nice, but I've had to change them frequently in the past. One even shattered in my pocket somehow (noticed after getting out of my car... No clue) better than nothing though.

Got mine yesterday on a deal that I just couldn't refuse. Tmobile had a deal where if you add a line you get one of these for free. So I added a line to my account (had been thinking of doing that anyway) and now I have a $700 5G phone for free.

Here are some thoughts after using it for a day;
I do like it, having come from a Pixel 3a and many phones prior to that. It's a phone with great reception, and good call quality. It's snappy, has an awful lot of customization possibilities (what Samsung doesn't). I do not regret switching from the Pixel 3a which I actually loved, but now I have a 5G phone with wireless charging capability.
Do I have any criticisms? Yes...I don't feel the AMOLED screen is all it's cracked up to be. To me, it seems a bit washed out, looking a bit more like an LCD screen to me (not sure why). I have it set to vivid and when I set it to normal, it looks even worse. I've seen much better. Also, I disabled the Samsung keyboard which I thought was absolutely awful and am using the Google gboard instead. I'd highly recommend this to anyone with a Samsung phone. Same for Bixby, but I am sure this is nothing new that anyone is hearing here. I've also disabled Samsung Daily as I see it as an unnecessary bunch of bloatware.
So far, the battery seems to last more than a day, but I did lower the refresh rate to 60 as I really can't tell any difference between that and 120. Though admittedly I did not want a phone to play video games on, so I probably am not appreciating the potential difference.
The in screen fingerprint sensor seems to be working great, even a lot better than I had anticipated. So far in 2 days of heavy use, I have only had it miss maybe 2 or 3 times. I have not tried facial recognition, though I do like the fact that I can choose either method. Coming from the Pixel whose fingerprint sensor is on the back, I did have some reservations as the one on the Pixel is wonderful. But I must say that at this point so far, I am preferring the Samsung one in the display as it is easier and quicker to access.
I suppose 5G will still take some time and get even better, but I am getting download speeds over twice what I was getting on 4G. I'm happy with this.
By the way, my T-Mobile branded one did come with the screen protector (or at lease something that looks like it can be left on). Not sure if it's meant to but it seems more permanent than the normal plastic they put on new phones.
All in all, a good experience and I highly recommend this phone to anyone contemplating it.

I also noticed this version of Gboard for this phone does not allow for faster typing -- there's no option within the settings to download the faster engine.
