I have all of my lock screen notifications set up the way I want. Except, let's say if there are two notifications on my lock screen, normally there would be a change in contrast when I select one so that I can see which notification I selected to open when I unlock the screen. For example, the notification would usually turn from white to a dark grey when you selected it on the lock screen.

I have had 4 other Galaxy phones and they all did this properly except the new S20. O have combed over almost every option. Am I missing something?

Registered. Thank you.

This is not using AOD. It is when I either press the side button or double tap the screen to wake it up.
Hi, welcome to AC!

I haven't seen this with my Note 10+ but I use AOD

After playing with more settings, it may be related to "dark mode". In order to fix my issue, I have to be in light mode and turn the notification to be almost completely transparent to see the selection contrast. Is there any way to have my phone so my keyboard and menus are in dark mode but still have the lock screen in light mode? If I adjust notification transparency in dark mode in either direction, it doesn't help.

The lock screen gas its own auto brightness if you haven't enabled that ?

All of my auto brightnesses are enabled. The issue isn't necessarily with brightness as much as it is contrast. I can see the notification and what it says perfectly fine. Only the "highlight" when selecting the notification is impossible to see.

You using stock wallpaper or from Gallery?

I have also checked and turned off the apply dark mode to wallpaper option. (Tried it both ways).

It could be your wallpaper , if not using stock one or a theme if your using one .

I've tried it with both stock wallpaper, gallery and video and non-video wallpaper. It slightly easier to see when using dark mode on a lighter background and light mode on a darker background. But you really need to focus on it to be able to tell.

Might want try Samsung good lock app in galaxy play store and use plug in module locksar and see if you can adjust some settings
