S20 plus notifications help.

I had this also on my s10,just had an S20 plus 5g and when the phone isn't being used just sitting on the table is it normal for
notifications take ages to come through like Amazon/Ebay etc and say i pick the phone up and unlock it then the notification is waiting
and comes up with sound.
I also have an old Iphone 6s set up and thats a good 5mins before i get it come through on my s20,i had same on s10.

Second thing......I have the notification edge lighting on when i get them but should this light up on notifications like Amazon/Ebay/messages.
I do have Always On Display on so dont know if this is the problem.

First if you had this on another device it sounds like you have a bad app on the device. Something that is blocking or preventing notifications from coming right through.

Are you using a data saver, memory booster, anti virus or any apps like that on this device that you also used on the other device?

There is a feature on both the S10 and S20 that causes the phone to notify again if the initial notification goes unchecked and the device isn't detected to be moving. It's called Smart Alert, it's in the Motions and Gestures settings.

I don't use AOD so I'm not sure how edge lighting works with it enabled. If you want it to work for specific apps you have to enable that. Make sure it is enabled by going to Settings>Display>Edge screen>Choose apps. If they are already enabled it may just not work with AOD.

I was thinking something like an app, no i ain't got any virus protection app or data save on and some apps i didn't install as i wanted a complete fresh install
so didnt do any app transfer only contacts.

I have just had a look at the edge lighting when you get notifications but i don't have edge screen only edge panel which is the side that pops out.
I want it so when i get any notification the edge of the screen lights up as all i can find is either screen flash or camera but you cant choose the apps to use it.
I have the new 11 installed the other day.

This is my case too, always has been on the S10+ and continues on the S20+.

I put it down to the whole "must save battery at all cost" stuff that's been going on for awhile.

Probably don't remember if you had it before A11 came out, do you?

Try getting the app at the Galaxy Store, EdgeLighting+. I have it so maybe that's why I have the options???

On my s10 i had a Notification/LED app i think it was called that and it had loads of options of making the light around the front camera like up or a dot on the top of the screen or the edge lighting and you can set it for every app and time it stops on for a reapeat.
Wanted to see if the standard edge light would work as it should but if not i will install this app again.

To add another thing is i aint got a clue on this notification delay as my friend on his s10 5g gets the same,not all the time it happens but if you unlock the phone there are notifications waiting there mainly ones like ebay/amazon etc. and i have checked the sleeping apps so non sleeps and battery saver is off and stuff like this.
Its the main thing i would like to get sorted as it seems a very common fault what i have read.
